Workshop: QUEER 101 – at the Hub Thursday, June 12th 3:30pm

Ella Kaplan from Outright Vermont (above) presents this workshop.
Did you know that over 10% of the population is gay, lesbian or
bisexual (GLB)? Did you know that 1 in 4 people have someone in their
immediate family who is GLB? Did you know that 3 in 4 people have
friends, co-workers, teachers, etc who are GLB? And these statistics
don’t even talk about gender variant, gender queer, or transgendered
folks! Think how many more people are living happy, healthy lives
outside the gender binary (What is the gender binary? Find out in this
workshop!)

The staff of Outright Vermont talks about finding common vocabulary
and understanding what sexual orientation is by starting with the
basics like ‘sex’ and ‘gender’. This is a fabulous workshop which will
teach you how and why to toss the “queer eye for the straight guy”
about queer people and how you can support friends, family and co-
workers who might happen to be queer. Fun and interactive; push
yourself to expand your horizons of what you consider “normal”.
