THANK YOU to the Unitarian Universalist Society in Middlebury for our NEW POOL TABLE! Nita Hanson and the church staff helped us organize to get The Hub’s new monster 8-foot commercial pool table out of the basement of their new office house, and everybody at Pool World gave it up for us – They brought the muscle and truck over from South Burlington to move the table – they even had to cut pieces of wall down to get it out of its building – and when they put it back together they put brand new felt on it. The Hub now has a superfine billiard situation. Thank you Michelle Booska, Wes Thompson, and Kyle James from Pool World. We got the tip about the table from Caroline Engvall who works with the Bristol Recreation Department offering dog training courses, and we got help from Darla Senecal at Bristol Rec who made the hookup with Caroline happen.

Wes and Kyle play Tetris with pool table parts.

This is why the ‘pros’ do it.

Our zombie pool table top waiting to be resurrected.

The guts of the table, with the gutters that make the balls roll to the side.

Coming together!

The table top is a single giant piece of slate that weighs probably six hundred pounds.

Preparing to put the slate onto the table, making sure not to smash anybody’s toes.

Muscle men in action – up and over!

Peeling the old felt off the table top.

Putting the new felt onto the table.

Setting the newly felted slate into the table top.

Wes, putting the bumpers back onto the table – they put new felt on them back at Pool World.

Putting the ‘dots’ on.

Wes and Kyle at the NEW table! Sean and Kraton got th
e first game on it…

Thank you (again!) to everyone involved in bringing The Hub the table. We feel very lucky to have it!
