Art and Remembrance

Reposted from The Eagle. See original article.

Peter Donin puts the finishing touches on a mural at the Hub Skatepark in Bristol. The work was painted by Donin and Jason Tooth to honor two deceased Bristol residents—Sam LaFramboise and Anthony Loyer. Sam was involved in building the skatepark, along with his father Phil Laframboise. Laframboise died in an auto accident last October. Loyer perished in a house fire last year.

Hot, Sticky, Cheesy

  • Low attendance due to the blistering heat and humidity didn’t stop brave hub goers from devouring three Cubbers cheese pizzas in no time. Don’t forget, free pizza every Thursday!
  • The rains been holding off nicely for the second to last day of skate camp with Phil, even though menacing clouds to the west threaten to spoil it.
  • Started filming for the Hub skate video today with footage contributions from Jason, Lauren, Bryn, and Hunter. Come out and help get some sweet footy. We’ve got the equipment – if we’re not out there filming and you want us to be, don’t hesitate to ask, its going to take contributions from everyone to get a whole video together.

Hub CLOSED Today (Wednesday 6/17)

Erin, Ryan and Jim all have business keeping them from the Hub tonight – but we’ll be here early on Thursday and will probably be open until 8pm (our new summer hours officially start next week).
