Jul 13th
Isaiah made history last Friday by setting the world record for the Longest Paper Football Field Goal! The previous record was 49 inches. Isaiah beat it with a goal from 72 inches away – that’s six feet! Check out the video above and see the official record on The Universal Record Database.
Stay tuned: We’re planning on having a Record Setting Day here at The Hub!
Prepping for the fest
Jul 1st

The Bristol Hub will be closed on Friday (June 2nd) in preparation for Screaming For Change Fest over the weekend. Dawn will be getting food ready to feed all of the hungry punk and hardcore kids coming in. Some people have already volunteered to help cook on Friday, but more are always welcome! If you’re interested in helping out, feel free to drop by or call Dawn at (802) 453-3678.

HUB TEEN CENTER program director Ryan Krushenick wants to prove that hardcore punk rock can be loud, angry-sounding — and uplifting. He's organizing this weekend's upcoming "Screaming for Change" music fest in Bristol, which he hopes will pull in music fans from around the region while showing teenagers that musicians can be drug-free, positive role models. BRISTOL — For one weekend in early July, the town that bills itself as the “Gateway to the Green Mountains” will become the unlikely epicenter of the hardcore punk rock music world.
Twenty bands from around the country are beating a path to Bristol, where on July 3 and 4 musicians will take the stage at the Bristol Hub Teen Center for the “Screaming for Change” music festival.
The music might sound angry, said organizer Ryan Krushenick, but it’s anything but.

Getting the garden going
Jun 28th

Sam was hard at work today. Thanks to the Gardens for Learning grant, she’ll be our Assistant Coordinator for the garden this summer, and we’re glad to have her back!
A big thank you goes out to Keenann and Rockville Market Farm in Starksboro for donating a ton of starter plants to help get us going!
Another thanks to National Gardening Association for donating seeds to us, like the ones Sam is planting in the photo.

Last week, Ryan went on the “Rocket Shop” radio show on Burington’s 105.9 ‘The Radiator’ to promote Screaming For Change Fest. Dakotah B., a Hub regular, joined Ryan on the show and talked about his experiences with music and shows at The Hub. That’s Dakotah on the left and Ryan on the right, having fun on air.
