If you weren’t at Screaming For Change Fest 2010…

Here’s some of what you missed. Sing-alongs and skating, lemonade and face-painting, bonfires to keep warm at night and fans to keep cool during the day, sleeping in and hanging out, friends and good times, and so much more. We’re glad to say it went off without a hitch an we’re ready to do it again next year!

Special thanks to Erik, Caitlyn, Angela, Ashley, and Emma for helping with the food for the fest, and to Bristol Bakery for putting up with a storm of kids on Sunday morning and donating a bunch of free bagels.  And let’s not forget Rhino Foods, Cabot Cheese, Town of Bristol and Pete’s road crew, the Port-o-let company that moved the john for us, Bristol Recreation Club, Bristol Recreation Department, the Bristol Police, and other festival volunteers.

Thanks to Future Breed for all of the photos on this page (except for the tents and lemonade stand). Check out all of his photos from Day One and Day Two of the fest on future-breed.com.

And of course, thanks go out to all of the bands and everyone else who came out and made July 3rd & 4th a weekend to remember.

Another world record set at The Bristol Hub!

Isaiah made history last Friday by setting the world record for the Longest Paper Football Field Goal! The previous record was 49 inches. Isaiah beat it with a goal from 72 inches away – that’s six feet! Check out the video above and see the official record on The Universal Record Database.

Stay tuned: We’re planning on having a Record Setting Day here at The Hub!

Prepping for the fest

The Bristol Hub will be closed on Friday (June 2nd) in preparation for Screaming For Change Fest over the weekend. Dawn will be getting food ready to feed all of the hungry punk and hardcore kids coming in. Some people have already volunteered to help cook on Friday, but more are always welcome! If you’re interested in helping out, feel free to drop by or call Dawn at (802) 453-3678.

Bristol drums up punk rock fest

HUB TEEN CENTER program director Ryan Krushenick wants to prove that hardcore punk rock can be loud, angry-sounding — and uplifting. He's organizing this weekend's upcoming "Screaming for Change" music fest in Bristol, which he hopes will pull in music fans from around the region while showing teenagers that musicians can be drug-free, positive role models. BRISTOL — For one weekend in early July, the town that bills itself as the “Gateway to the Green Mountains” will become the unlikely epicenter of the hardcore punk rock music world.

Twenty bands from around the country are beating a path to Bristol, where on July 3 and 4 musicians will take the stage at the Bristol Hub Teen Center for the “Screaming for Change” music festival.

The music might sound angry, said organizer Ryan Krushenick, but it’s anything but.
