This Week at the Hub

This Thursday on May 17th we will be taking kids to the Bouncing Souls show at Higher Ground. Come into the Hub this week to sign up to go for free we will be leaving the Hub around 6pm. Come into the Hub and sign up for the Learning Kitchen which will be Fridays 3p to 5pm. Learn to cook and bring the groceries home to your parents to show of your new skills.

Also, come in and sing up for our sexual health class; if you complete all the class you get $100. Come into the Hub and talk to Ryan or Jim for more information

Concert

Hey Guys the last concert at Higher Ground is coming up on May 17th! The Bouncing Souls, we will be leaving the Hub around 6pm! Bring in your transportation waivers or come get them inside.

Learning Kitchen

Hey Guys. The Hub is going to be starting the Learning Kitchen Program on May 18th. This program will involve us cooking, learning about nutrition and the meal we prepared, eating the meal and sending home the recipes and groceries so you can prepare the meal for your family! Making dinner for your family really good way to impress them and get on your parents good side. It will be from 3-5 after school and if you need to leave a little early to catch the activity bus you can. Come in and sign up with Heather.

Skateboard Camp

Mikey X has been teaching people to skate for several years. In
recent years he has taught skaters of all ages and abilities; beginners
and experts, skateboarders and in-line skaters, boys and girls
and even some moms and dads. We’ll start wtih the basics, pushing,
turning, stopping, balance them move on to ramps, rolling
down, dropping in, and turning around. Finally on to tricks, ollies,
grinds, and kickflips. Mikey will teach park safety, etiquette, patience
and respect as well.

DEV

Last night we 5 kids to see Dev at Higher Ground in Burlington. Many of the youth that we brought had never been to a concert and enjoyed the music. We all danced for most of the night and laughed and had fun! Here are a few pictures from the night but there are more on our face book.

Springtime at the Hub

Hey guys, remember that there are a lot of cool concerts going on this week and if you are interested in going with us for FREE make sure you stop in and fill out the required paperwork. Don’t forget that Monday is the Community Advisory Board meeting at the Hub and anyone is welcome; the meeting starts at 6pm.

Also check out our flowers that are blooming now that it is nice out. These lovely flowers were planted by our own Sammie and we want to thank her for helping make the Hub a more beautiful place.

Community Advisory Board

Hey everyone!!! Next Monday, April 30th, there is a Community Advisory Board meeting at The Hub. The meeting will start at 6pm and go no later than 8pm, and there will be coffee. Everyone is welcome to come and share their ideas with the Community Advisory Board; we would all like to know how to make The Hub a better place for our teens.

Bouncing Souls

Hey Guys another free show for you at Higher Ground. On Thursday May 17, we will be taking a a few teens to see Bouncing Souls perform the concert starts at 7:30pm. Come into the Hub to be entered to get the tickets. To be able to get the tickets and come with the Hub to the concert you need to have a promise form filled out by your parents (unless your 18) and a transportation waiver done by your parents (even if your 18); also you will need to do a paper and video survey for the staff. So come and have a good night.

Spring Time

Hey guys,
It is spring time here and lots of fun things are going on at the Hub! Come on in and ask about all the up coming events at the Hub and our cool field trips (See posts below). The weather is really nice out now so come hang out on our lawn chairs or get some exercise on the skate park. The garden is always ready for some loving care so come on and enjoy the su and flowers.
