Updates and Changes!
Jul 14th
Things around here are moving and being created. Tooth stopped by and added some new additions around the skatepark and on the roof. Our garden shed has been stained and a pretty spray painted flower was hung from the entrance. Our garden veggies are sprouting and looking very tasty. We also received a generous donation from Badger Organic Sunscreen for our skate kids to use when out in the sun. Remember everyone ware sunscreen!

Screaming For Change THANK YOU!
Jul 9th
This year as Screaming For Change was more a a success than we could have possibly imagined. We had roughly 70 more people participate this year than last, the weather held out amazingly, we didn’t have one town/noise complaint and the bonfire was clearly spectacular. We work really hard on this event every year, and by “we” I mean a massive group of people all contributing to the main goal of creating an amazing event. This group consists of the Town Of Bristol/police force, The Hub Staff, Big Heavy World volunteers and The Radiator DJs, plus many many more people.
The Hub/myself wouldn’t be able to pull this fest off without some key help/donations from very kind places individuals. Advance Music in Burlington for a equipment donation the day before the fest. Sarah Parker for making all the meals. Evie Michaelson and Sabertooh Bakery for making all of the baked goods. Jade Lotus, Arrest Records, Tye Tonkin’s Martial Arts, Bristol Friends of the Arts, Big Heavy World, and The Radiator for their generous sponsorships. The Town of Bristol for being amazing and supporting us. WCAX for giving us a chance to speak our mind and give us a voice on television. Philip England for saving 2 days of drummers a lot of hell. Last but not least Justin Gonyea for being my partner in crime 100% helping schedule, book, maintain and everything involving the fest. The fest would have looked completely different if it wasn’t for him and not for the better.
So what’s next? People ask me all the time “Will it happen next year?” and the answer as of now is absolutely YES. As long as The Hub exists as an institution, and I am working there, SFC will have a home on July weekends every year. There are things we cant depend on, like the weather, but what we can count on is everyone getting together to make the best weekend of the summer. Sarcastically I like to refer to it as the “summer ruiner” not because it ruins the summer, but because it’s sheer awesomeness is so grand that it’s all down hill after the fest, no matter how great things are.
Thank you everyone, and I’ll see you in 2012. -Ryan Krushenick
