Skatepark Renovation Project

The Bristol Recreation Department, Hub, and Bristol Recreation Club are working together to redo the skatepark!

Why?

The Bristol Skatepark is a well used and loved outdoor community space. It is one of the most used areas on the Bristol Rec fields and it’s use and it’s age (25ish years) is clearly shown in the condition of the asphalt and features. Bristol was awarded some funds from the American Rescue Plan Act to help recover from the COVID Pandemic. After a thorough survey and deliberation the town of Bristol, by recommendation from the Bristol ARPA committee, awarded the Hub $140,000 for skatepark and Hub support.

We had a community meeting and voted unanimously to move forward with a complete overhaul and rebuild a brand new skatepark in concrete!

With our goal of a concrete park we are going to need a lot more money to make it happen!! If you want to contribute and donate please follow this link to the Bristol Rec page to donate!

We plan to post the RFP (Request For Proposals ) for the Design and Engineering stage of the project on September 12th.

What is our Goal?

Our goal is to create a beautiful, durable skatepark that will last for many years and offer outdoor recreation opportunities to many people. We are prioritizing accessibility and inclusion. We envision a community space where people of all abilities and skills levels can gather and recreate together. We are expecting the cost of our dream park to be around $660,000 but will have a proper estimation after we have a design. We are currently working on the RFP (Request for Proposals) to release to hire a company to work with to design the park.

We are still in the beginning stages of fundraising, planning, and design. Below are some examples of already existing parks on the Rec Fields to serve as examples.
